National Ploughing Championships 2026
The National Ploughing Championships is Ireland's largest outdoor agricultural event, returning for its 95th edition to Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly (Ireland), from 15th to 17th September 2026. Taking place during Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Championships bring together farmers, rural communities, businesses, researchers and policymakers to celebrate Irish and European agriculture, welcoming up to 300,000 visitors and hundreds of exhibitors across the three days, alongside live demonstrations of farming, livestock, forestry, food production and agricultural machinery.
Among the many exhibitors, Enterprise Ireland's Innovation Arena, one of the most visited exhibitions at the Championships, hosts this year's edition under the theme "Helping Irish Agri Business Go Global", showcasing Irish-owned companies delivering pioneering solutions for the agrifood sector. Our Irish Node
Led by Munster Technological University (MTU), a university with a strong heritage in agricultural engineering, applied science and industry-focused education, the agrifoodTEF Irish Node helps SMEs de-risk and commercialise AI and automation solutions through engineering-led validation and access to advanced integration and prototyping facilities.
Companies work with the Irish Node to define a structured scope of work, receive a tailored validation plan, and carry out engineering validation and integration activities, either in MTU's IMaR laboratories or directly at their own site.
Within the agrifoodTEF network, the Irish Node connects Irish AgriTech and Agrifood SMEs to complementary expertise across the wider European network, helping them strengthen technical performance and accelerate commercial readiness.
