xTEF: From testing to market – the strategic role of TEFs in European Industry
On 18 November 2026, xTEF brings together Europe’s four Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs) in Brussels, Belgium, to discuss their current operations, long-term sustainability and role in supporting European industry. Organised by AI Matters the day after the Apply AI Summit, this fourth edition builds on previous events in Copenhagen (2023), Berlin (2024) and Milan (2025).
The event gathers industrial SMEs, technology providers, innovation ecosystem leaders, RTOs, EDIHs, investors and European policymakers, together with the communities of agrifoodTEF, AI Matters, TEF-Health and CitCom.AI. The programme combines strategic discussions, real-world deployment cases, demos and curated matchmaking across manufacturing, healthcare, smart communities and agrifood. Participants explore how testing infrastructures connect innovation, investment and market uptake, and what role TEFs play within the EU’s Apply AI Strategy.
agrifoodTEF takes part in xTEF 2026 alongside its fellow TEFs, bringing the agrifood sector’s perspective to the discussion. For agrifoodTEF and its community, the event is an opportunity to show how its European network of physical and digital facilities supports AI and robotics innovators in agriculture and food, to connect with stakeholders from other sectors, and to strengthen synergies across the TEF ecosystem.
