Overview

As automated agricultural technology evolves, ensuring that your automated system performs reliably and efficiently in real-world conditions is essential. Based on AstaZero’s extensive expertise from developing test methods and performing tests for the automotive industry, this service provides simulation-based testing, enabling the replication of a wide range of operational scenarios—from obstacle detection and sensor fusion to emergency stop mechanisms and geofencing. This allows for thorough virtual evaluation of the autonomous system’s behavior in a large array of expected and unexpected situations, limiting the need for expensive and time-consuming physical field testing. Moreover, the service supports customers in extending their vehicle's operational domain, which increases customer value. The virtual scenarios are tailored to your system’s architecture, operational needs, and requirements, enhancing your vehicle's uptime and operational domain as well as ensuring ISO 18497 compliance and optimizing safety.

More about the service

How can the service help you?

The service is designed to help optimize the customer’s product for reliable and efficient performance in real-world conditions by thoroughly evaluating the system’s behavior in expected and unexpected situations before operating it in the field. It focuses on edge case detection, making sure the system is compliant with ISO 18497 and minimizing unplanned downtime. These measures lead to an increased operational design domain, improved operational efficiency, and optimized performance before deployment. Before the service, the customer might have an autonomous tractor (or other system/machine) in early commercial deployment with a limited operational design domain (ODD). If a system has a limited ODD, it reduces the number of applications where it can be used, which hinders a broader market rollout. After the service, the system’s ability to handle different operational environments and conditions has been increased without compromising on safety, i.e., the number of use cases and the addressable market is increased.

How the service will be delivered

The service is tailored to the customer’s system architecture and can be performed either digitally or with on-site expert visits. Depending on the maturity and complexity of the customer’s system, the implementation of the service can vary in duration.

Service customisation

Based on AstaZero’s extensive experience from the automotive industry, our service method involves tailoring simulation approaches and selecting scenarios to meet the specific needs of each customer’s system. This approach ensures that our customers receive the most relevant and effective testing solutions, enhancing the safety and reliability of their autonomous machine.
