Description
GRADIANT's 5G lab is an experimental hub for innovating and validating new technologies. It boasts a full-fledged cellular network, including Core Network, Radio Access protocols, and Edge computing. Through end-to-end virtualisation, it leverages general-purpose hardware and open-source software libraries to deploy various network and radio functions. Equipped with computing resources, SDR platforms, and high-bandwidth signal transmission elements, it serves as a versatile 5G base station and terminal. The lab features specialised hardware for both wired and aerial interconnections between radio elements, along with signal generation and spectral analysis tools, enabling comprehensive experimentation and development of 5G applications and services.
What could be offered through this facility?
- Validation of communication equipment over private 5G network to simplify debugging tasks
- Generating and providing access to data networks with various types of sensors and actuators connected to them
- Experimenting with and validating the performance of UAVs, AGVs, and robots connected to the network.
