Overview
FEM will provide experimental sites and expertise for the field validation of digital hive monitoring technologies aimed at assessing honeybee colony dynamics, health, and environmental interactions. The service will include the installation and management of instrumented apiaries across different agroecosystems, environmental data (hive weight, internal temperature, flight activity, and weather), and ground-truth measurements performed by expert apicultural technicians. Complementary analyses of pollen and honey (melissopalynological and multiresidual) will support the evaluation of floral resources, pesticide exposure, and honey quality. The combined datasets will enable the calibration of AI-based predictive models and the development of digital tools for apiculture and agroecosystem monitoring.
