Description
The Institute for Agricultural, Fisheries and Food Research (ILVO) is an independent scientific research centre of the Flemish government. It is commissioned by that government to help make agriculture, fisheries, and the agri-food sector more sustainable. Starting from a strong anchor in Flanders, their work extends throughout Belgium, Europe, and the rest of the world. The mission of ILVO is clear and remarkably contemporary: to build knowledge that will make it possible to produce enough healthy and varied food for the 10 billion people that the world will need to feed while staying within our planetary limits. ILVO consists of four units: Plant Sciences, Animal Sciences, Technology and Food Science, and Social Sciences. TV115 is the physical site of the Technology and Food Science unit, located in Merelbeke. This site is dedicated to advancing agrotechnology through cutting-edge research and services. The infrastructure at TV115 is managed by specialised teams, each focusing on a distinct aspect of agrotechnology. These teams include Robotics and AI, Spray Technology, Emissions, LCA analysis, Data Sharing, etc.
