Purpose & Scope
Bringing agricultural and food technology from domestic validation to European scale introduces significant hurdles, including varying soil types, climate conditions, EU regulatory compliance (such as the EU AI Act and CE marking), and local commercial dynamics. This 30-minute kickstart webinar, hosted by the Danish Technological Institute (DTI) as part of the agrifoodTEF network, introduces companies and EDIHs to European-wide Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEF). Participants gain insights into real-world testing environments across 10 European countries, custom dataset collection for AI/vision models, and third-party validation that builds trust with international distributors and farmers. Additionally, the session highlights EDIH opportunities, investment support, and export pathways, de-risking the cross-border expansion of innovative agrifood solutions.
During the event, attendees gain experience on:
● DigComp 2.2: 1.1 Browsing, searching and filtering data; 5.2 Identifying needs and technological responses
● AI4EU / ESCO: Understanding AI and robotics testing in real-world environments; regulatory compliance & validation; cross-border innovation uptake.
Learning objectives
Participants will learn about EDIH and agrifoodTEF and how to gain entry into the networks.
In addition, participants will learn how they can derisk their export efforts by utilizing the agrifoodTEF and EDIH ecosystems, e.g. testing their products on local farms, learning about the local farmers in the regions and countries they want to export their products to, and support with data collection in the region and for the purpose they wish.
Learning outcomes
● Participants will know that agrifoodTEF and EDIH can help their exporting efforts in countries outside of Denmark.
● Participants will have a basic understanding of how the agrifoodTEF and EDIH initiatives can support their SME.
Who should attend?
- Agri-tech & SME decision-makers: business owners and managers looking to deploy AI-driven tools safely without risking infrastructure compromise.
- EDIH Staff & Digital Advisors: hub representatives looking to guide regional SMEs toward reliable, AI-driven services.
