This deliverable provides an overview of technologies in the field of agrifoodTEF project currently used in agriculture, analysing their potential development trends based on their advantages, disadvantages, and use cases. It also aims to provide an outlook on how these technologies may evolve in the future, considering past changes and advancements. The report is structured by functionality and outlines the agricultural technologies that can be implemented using these technologies. It is complemented by a list of commercially available devices that agrifoodTEF network has identified as utilising the respective technology. A critical component of the analysis is to present potential services and their extent, mindful of the shortcomings of the utilised technological components.
The European agrifood sector faces critical challenges, including climate change, resource efficiency, and the demand for sustainable food production. AgrifoodTEF, a pioneering project within the Digital Europe Programme, seeks to address these challenges by professionalising and internationalising its network of physical testing and experimentation facilities. This Year 2 report details the systematic efforts to harmonise infrastructure descriptions and service offerings among TEF partners. Key achievements include developing standardised templates for cataloguing facilities, equipment, and services, fostering consistency and collaboration across the consortium.
This report is the first annual report of the agrifoodTEF project, and it aims to showcase the outcomes of the work done on the simulation and remotisation tools during the first year of the project. The report is part of deliverable 2.4, which corresponds to task 2.3 of the project. The report intends to provide a comprehensive overview of the simulation and remotisation tools of the agrifoodTEF project, as well as to demonstrate their value and potential for enhancing the efficiency, sustainability, and resilience of the agrifood sector. This will mainly be done by collecting information and statistics from the infrastructure that will be provided by task 2.1. The report will be updated and extended in the following years, as the project progresses, and new results are obtained.
