The TEF team conducts drone test flights and provides hands-on guidance, allowing Agriflight to focus on scaling its business and refining its service offering. The partnership has already yielded measurable results, from time savings and improved efficiency, to new business opportunities through exposure at demonstration events.

Glimax, an agricultural technology company dedicated to sustainability, has partnered with agrifoodTEF’s Spanish node to advance AI-driven weed control solutions. By integrating innovative technologies, Glimax helps farmers enhance efficiency while reducing environmental impact. In collaboration with the University of Córdoba and key industry partners, the company has played a key role in scaling selective spraying technology across Europe.

Eco Clipper, a Dutch manufacturer of electric mowing systems, joined forces with Thorsen Teknik and AgriRobot to develop an autonomous mowing solution. Seeking expertise in functional safety, the companies have been supported by agrifoodTEF Swedish Node. This collaboration ensured that the autonomous Eco Clipper robot met strict safety requirements while improving operational efficiency and sustainability in agriculture.

At the heart of Italy’s apple orchards, innovative start-up GeoInference designed an AI-driven solution that transforms how farmers count and size their apples, improving quality and productivity. This innovative system, supported by the agrifoodTEF Italian Node, increases precision, efficiency, and profitability for agribusinesses. This AI solution uses real-time monitoring and data analysis to offer cutting-edge services for harvest management. As part of the support, agrifoodTEF provided tailored AI hardware performance assessments to ensure the solution operated effectively even in low-connectivity environments. 

The Digital Future Farm (DFF) project is driving the next generation of farm management with Digital Twin technology and AI-powered decision support. At the Agro-Innovation Centre De Marke in Hengelo, Wageningen University & Research (WUR) hosted an ELSA workshop to explore the ethical, legal, and societal dimensions of the technology. DFF connects validated models with real-time farm data via the open-source MODCOM framework and integrates farm data spaces through the FarmMaps platform. Collaborating with the agrifoodTEF Dutch Node, the project ensures responsible and scalable digital innovation for sustainable farming.

The Farming GT is a game-changer in sustainable farming, offering 24/7 autonomous operation across any terrain. It handles up to 10 hectares per day, using electric all-wheel drive and precision hoeing to remove weeds down to the millimeter. With smart features like smartphone app integration, easy transport, and adaptable row widths, it ensures low soil compaction and efficient weeding for over 60 crops. Designed for simplicity, reliability, and cost-efficiency, the Farming GT is built for the future of farming. The Company is based in Austria but the product can be applied in many other european countries such as Spain, Germany and Portugal.

Optronia, an Austrian-based company and creator of the SprayLogix brand, is pioneering optical sensor technology for smart and sustainable agriculture. Its advanced sensors detect weeds in real-time, allowing highly targeted spraying that can reduce chemical usage by up to 90%. Through the AgriFoodTEF Austrian Node, Optronia collaborated with Josephinum Research to test, validate, and certify its AI-driven spot-spraying system — a major step toward sustainable, data-driven crop management.

QZ Solutions, a Polish technology company, is advancing precision agriculture with its SoilEO system, which uses hyperspectral imaging and AI algorithms to map soil nutrient content and optimise fertilisation strategies. To improve the accuracy of its models, QZ Solutions collaborated with agrifoodTEF Polish Node. The support included access to benchmark datasets and enriched annotations, enabling validation and optimisation of the SoilEO algorithms. This collaboration accelerates SoilEO’s market readiness and strengthens its potential impact on sustainable farming practices.

Agriculture is evolving — facing modern-day challenges like labor shortages, sustainability demands, and the need for more efficient resource use. Farm-ING, an Austrian agri-tech company, is tackling these challenges head-on with the help of AI, robotics, and the collaborative testing environment provided by AgriFoodTEF. Their Spot Sprayer technology is designed to drastically reduce pesticide usage while increasing productivity and crop care precision.
