EFEMIS Meets ResiYou: The Hispatec & Fresón de Palos Success Story

Digital interoperability is becoming essential for modern agriculture. This success story shows how Hispatec validated the integration between EFEMIS and ResiYou to improve traceability, data exchange, and operational efficiency in real strawberry production environments.

Overview

Hispatec develops digital solutions designed to support the digital transformation of the agrifood sector
Its mission focuses on improving farm management, traceability, and operational efficiency across agricultural production systems. Through platforms such as EFEMIS and ERPagro, the company integrates data from multiple sources, enabling growers, agricultural cooperatives, and agribusiness companies to optimise production processes and strengthen data-driven decision-making.
Through its collaboration with agrifoodTEF, Hispatec had the opportunity to test and validate innovative digital integrations in real agricultural environments. In particular, the initiative focused on strengthening interoperability between EFEMIS and the digital tool ResiYou, enabling the exchange of agronomic information related to phytosanitary treatments and residue monitoring. The validation activities were carried out in collaboration with Fresón de Palos, providing access to a real operational context in strawberry production, where the integration could be tested and assessed by end users.

The challenge

Before engaging with agrifoodTEF, Hispatec faced the challenge of validating interoperability between EFEMIS and ResiYou in order to enable the digital management of phytosanitary treatments and residue monitoring. Ensuring a seamless exchange of data between the two platforms was essential for improving traceability and supporting efficient operational management.
This challenge reflected a broader need expressed by Hispatec’s customers: agricultural organisations are increasingly adopting digital tools to manage their production processes, yet these tools often operate within different technological ecosystems. As a result, ensuring interoperability between farm management platforms and specialised agronomic solutions is crucial for building integrated digital environments capable of automatically exchanging information.
Without access to an external testing and validation framework, assessing the effectiveness of such integration would have been difficult. Testing interoperability in a real production environment and collecting feedback from actual users were essential steps for evaluating the accuracy of the exchanged data, the usability of the integrated system, and its practical value for agricultural operations.

The agrifoodTEF service

Through participation in agrifoodTEF, Hispatec accessed a set of specialised services designed to support the integration, validation, and usability assessment of advanced digital technologies in agriculture. These services helped the company explore the potential of AI-driven tools, ensure smooth technological integration within existing production environments, and evaluate how end users interact with digital solutions in real operational contexts.

In particular, the service Assistance for Identifying AI Technologies for Agricultural Robotics, Drones, and Precision Machinery supported the identification of relevant AI technologies that could enhance agricultural equipment and digital platforms. This process included screening suitable AI tools and algorithms for agricultural applications and exploring their potential integration within existing systems.

EFEMIS and ResiYou

The impact

The collaboration successfully validated the integration between EFEMIS and ResiYou, demonstrating the feasibility of enabling automated data exchange between both platforms. Through this integration, strawberry crop and treatment data can be shared digitally, supporting improved traceability of phytosanitary applications and more efficient management of agronomic information.
Testing the solution in a real operational environment confirmed the robustness of the integration architecture and the effectiveness of the data exchange processes. The results demonstrated that external digital tools can be integrated within Hispatec’s agricultural management platforms while maintaining reliable system performance and usability for technical staff working in the field.
Beyond the immediate technical validation, the experience provided Hispatec with valuable insights into the practical implementation of interoperable digital ecosystems in agriculture. The project established a solid basis for scaling the integration model to additional customers and extending interoperability with other agritech solutions.

Looking ahead, agrifoodTEF represents a valuable ecosystem for supporting the testing and validation of digital innovations in agriculture. For Hispatec, this collaboration opens new opportunities to explore further integrations, experiment with emerging technologies, and continue working with partners and end users to accelerate the adoption of advanced digital solutions across the agrifood sector.
