The testing journey behind AgroNetPro's software solutions

Overview

AgroNetPro is a Polish agrotechnology company dedicated to supporting sustainable farming by providing innovative digital solutions for monitoring and managing crop health. By pairing real-time soil moisture and temperature sensors with electrical conductivity (EC) sensors, AgronetPro analyzes soil salinity and dissolved nutrients. Its main customers are farmers and agricultural managers working across diverse crop and soil types (such as sand, clay, and coconut fiber).

To accelerate market expansion, AgroNetPro collaborated with agrifoodTEF to comprehensively validate their new solution under rigorous, standardized conditions.

The challenge

agrifoodTEF services helped establish the calibration process for soil moisture and electrical conductivity (EC) sensors across a large, multi-factor matrix of soil types, enabling effective training of edge-AI models and overcoming limitations AgroNetPro faced without external infrastructure, particularly in achieving energy-optimized hardware and conducting complex regulatory compliance testing independently.

The agrifoodTEF service

AgroNetPro utilized agrifoodTEF’s benchmark suite for edge devices and specialized laboratories for conformity and safety assessments. Testing included EMC, RED, and climatic chamber evaluations. Partnering as technical experts, the agrifoodTEF team provided a specialized standardization device with diverse conductance settings (21 soil conductivity samples were tested), enabling precise data collection to safely train and validate edge-AI algorithms. Through this collaboration, stable input values were achieved for calibrating the device within the optimized measurement range.
